3card2
3card2 is a poker variant which offers a strategic, quick and intense card game while keeping the simplicity and universality of poker. Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck and chips for the bets. The aim is to get the best possible combination (or hand) with your cards. At each turn of a round the players are invited to place a bet, and the total of the bets forms the pot, which is won by the player with the best hand.
Why having invented 3card2 ?
I invented this game in November 2009 after having played hundreds of poker rounds and tried many variants, without however being fully delighted. Among the numerous poker variants I had a clear preference for Texas Hold'em and 5 Card Draw. What I like with Texas Hold'em is the possibility to see a big part of your opponents' cards, but I also like the idea to be able to replace bad cards at 5 Card Draw. With 3card2 I therefore decided to merge the best
of Texas Hold'em and 5 Card Draw. The aim is to obtain a poker game favouring reflection and strategy.
The specificities of 3card2.
Concerning the card hierarchy and combinations, 3card2 follows the basis poker rules. The specificities of 3card2 concern the number of cards of each player as well as the number of bet rounds. Before starting a 3card2 game, the players have to determine the amount of the minimum bet and possibly the amount of the maximum bet. It also has to be decided which player will deal the cards (the dealer). Therefore each player draws a card from
the 52 cards deck, and the one who has the highest card becomes the dealer. Afterwards the dealer role turns, it is always the next player clockwise.

To conclude.
3card2 was designed by one player for other players. Poker fans won't have any trouble adapting to this new variant. If you try 3card2, don't hesitate to send me your criticism, the good and the bad one to this address : contact@3card2.com. If you adopt 3card2, talk about it around you. The players, in particular the internet users are the ones who will make this a game successful.
